En 1876, cuando Lewis Carroll ya era famoso como autor deLas Aventuras de AliciayA través del Espejo, dio a la imprenta una nueva obra a la que titulóLa Caza del Snark. En ella relató una absurda expedición en barco de diez personajes cuyas descripciones empiezan todas por la letra B. Buscaban una criatura llamadaSnark, a la cual no se describe. Desde su aparición, se han propuesto numerosas hipótesis para explicar el significado de esta obra, que su autor nunca desveló. La que aquí se expone es la única que encaja perfectamente con el texto de Carroll a la vez que con su hermética personalidad. Casi ciento cincuenta años tras su creación, el enigma del Snark ha quedado resuelto. In 1876, when Lewis Carroll was already famous as the author ofAlice´s AdventuresandThrough the Looking-Glass, he give to print a new work which he entitledThe Hunting of the Snark. He related there an absurd expedition by ship of ten personages whose descriptions all begin with the letter B. They looked for a creature calledSnark, which is not described. Since its apparition, numerous hypotheses have been proposed for explaining the meaning of this work, never revealed by its author. The exposed here is the sole that fits into perfection with Carrolls text as well as with his hermetic personality. Almost one hundred and fifty years after its creation, the enigma of the Snark has been resolved.
