A partir del siglo XVIII surgió en Galicia un afán recopilador de relatos, cantigas, refranes y diversas manifestaciones de la cultura oral, que pronto serían englobadas bajo la denominación de ?folklore?. Este libro recoge una selección de leyendas procedentes de  esa  literatura popular con la intención primera de salvarlas del olvido.Mouros,  encantos,  tesoros,  personajes  históricos,  santos  y  santuarios,  ciudades  anegadas  y hombres-lobo llegan a nosotros magníficamente  ilustrados a través de  fotografías, pero también de  fotomontajes  y  composiciones gráficas para reproducir  lo  irreproducible;  para  simular,  en suma, lo que el ojo humano jamás ha visto.The 18th century onwards saw a considerable fascination for compiling stories, songs, sayings and other examples of the region?s oral cultural tradition, which would soon be classified under the general heading of ?folklore?. This volume features a selection of legends taken from traditional and popular literature in an attempt to rescue them from oblivion.Tales, spells, treasures, historical figures, saints and shrines, submerged cities and wolf-men are passed down to us in this work, magnificently illustrated with photographs, photomontage and graphics that manage to recreate the seemingly impossible; in other words, reproducing what the human eye has never actually seen.
