The present book has its origin in a series of stories that I wrote with a clearly pedagogic intention. Its primary objective therefore is to help upper-intermediate and advanced students to increase their vocabulary as they learn in a pleasant practical way how to use the new words correctly. The book consists of twenty units, divided into two parts. In the first part there are twelve stories, meant to be exploited by the students in class under their teachers guidance. The second part contains eight supplementary tales, which the students are supposed to develop by themselves at home, submitting their work later to their teacher to be commented on and corrected.
